Seafood Mussel Openers - Afternoon Shift

At Kono Seafood we farm, harvest and process mussels, using stringent safety and sustainability standards, to share with the world.
We are looking for a number of permanent and fixed term Mussel Openers on our night shift for the start of our 2021/2022 mussel processing season at our Riverlands, Blenheim factory which begins in September.
Hours for these positions are 3:45pm to 12:00am
About the role
This is a hands-on role that requires someone with a positive attitude, an eye for detail and who is quality conscious. Our mussel openers are key members of our wider team who ensure we are continually producing quality products for all of our customers. Experience in the food industry is an advantage but not essential. Training will be provided.
Our ideal candidate will:
- have great hand to eye coordination
- have an eye for detail
- have some factory experience
- be a good communicator.
This position is full-time, working Monday to Friday with some Saturday work required. We have a shutdown period around July which can vary from 6 to 12 weeks dependent on the mussel product.
